'Advanced eye care clinic' organises courses for physicians interested in learning phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery.

The center offers several courses for those physicians interested in learning phacoemulsification, small incision cataract surgery and Laser DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy).

Phaco-training is conducted by Dr. Nirav patel, M.S. & Dr. Mital Nirav Patel, M.S. Dr. Patel has trained more than 250 ophthalmologists from India and from abroad.

For training purposes the 'Advanced eye care clinic' is fully equipped with Zeiss MDO microscope (with observers tube and digital imaging system) and AMO  Sovereign Whitestar Phaco machine.

The "Short term phaco training course" allows the trainee to perform operations on about 30 eyes. The trainee will learn perform an incision , a capsulorhexis, hydisssection,  nucleus sculpting and dividing, different phaco techniques(divide & conquer, Stop & Chop, Chip & flip), cortical cleaning, as well as IOL implantation. While the trainee will perform the cataract surgery, the experienced consultant and teacher will be on hand to guide the fellow for each step. Each procedure will be recorded, and the recordings  reviewed along with the experienced surgeon. A handout will be given to each trainee where the most important steps of phacoemulsification surgery will be summarized. This course has been specially designed for physicians who have already some experiance of performing cataract surgery but they want to increase their phacoemulsification skills in order to perform safe cataract surgery.

" Normal, Intensive Phaco training course"  course will be similar to the short term course, except that the number of eyes that the trainee will get to operate on 60 eyes in order to get sufficient experience. This course is specially designed for physicians who had no or very little experience in cataract surgery. At the end of this course, it is expected that the trainee will master the technique of phacoemulsification, and will be able to do surgery independently.

Hands on pars plana vitrectomy course
This course is  for phaco trainee who want to get idea of PP vitrectomy. Main objective of this add on course is to get use to management of complications of phaco surgery. Our clinic offers this course on Alcon accurus machine.
